What’s new from within the Ministry of Regional Development activities.
….. We would like to inform you on the activities of the Ministry of the Environment in respect to sustainable development, in which the Ministry of Regional Development also participates.
Do please accept our invitation to take part in updating the Implementation Plan for the Czech Republic 2030 Strategic Framework and in the consultation of Voluntary National Review of the 2030 Agenda in the Czech Republic in 2021.
1. Update of the Czech Republic 2030 Implementation Plan
The Czech Republic 2030 Strategic Framework from 2017 introduces a vision what our country should be like at the end of this decade. Goals of Czech Republic 2030 evolve from international Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the UN in its 2030 Agenda. Czech 27 goals and 97 specific goals are grouped into 6 key areas reflecting economic, social and environmental elements of sustainable development from the perspective of benefits for CR citizens and their wellbeing. Additional strategies follow up on Czech Republic 2030, further detailing the ways to accomplish the goals defined.
The Implementation Plan develops long-term goals into a set of specific 270 measures and recommendations (more information here). Facing the impacts of Covid-19 pandemics, the Czech Republic 2030 Implementation Plan will be updated this year.
To find the most suitable and most significant measures, we need to know your opinion, too.
You can give us your opinion by either participating in our questionnaire survey and/or in on-line round-table discussions on individual key areas of Czech Republic 2030. Outputs from the questionnaire survey and on-line round-table discussions will help us determine relevant, meaningful actions for the upcoming years and accomplish Czech Republic 2030.
It is possible to complete the CR 2030 Implementation Plan Update questionnaire from 13th May through to 6th June 2021.
Round-table discussions on individual areas will take place in June and September 2021.
2. Voluntary National Review of the 2030 Agenda
Voluntary National Review of the 2030 Agenda (VNR) is an opportunity for every state to provide information on their progress towards global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every year in June, the UN holds High-Level Political Forum for state representatives to present these national reports. The Forum provides common grounds for sharing experience with the implementation and progress towards the accomplishment of the goals in individual countries. The Czech Republic already participated in the 2017 review. You can find the report here. In 2021, the Czech Republic will present its second voluntary review, evaluating developments over the past four years.
You can engage in VNR by taking part in a questionnaire survey on the relevance of individual Sustainable Development Goals for the Czech Republic and/or in on-line public hearing, which gives the possibility to amend the Draft Voluntary National Review of the 2030 Agenda.
Outputs of the questionnaire survey on Sustainable Development Goals will amend the National Review with public views and provide valuable information as an input for the planning of national sustainable development policies.
It is possible to complete the questionnaire on Sustainable Development Goals from 13th to 21st May 2021.
The public hearing on the Voluntary National Review of the 2030 Agenda will take place on-line on Wednesday 19 May 2021, starting at 3 pm. If you would like to participate, do please confirm your attendance by responding to this e-mail or directly to pavla.cvachovcova@mzp.cz.
You can register for the questionnaire survey the latest on 11th May 2021. You can register for round-table discussions on particular topics continuously according to their date of occurrence (June / September).
You can find the registration form as well as all information at https://cesko-udrzitelne.cz/.
